Peterborough natives and cousins, Mitchell Stephens and Owen Tippett, are making significant strides in the NHL with their impressive performances this season.
Mitchell Stephens started the season with the Montreal Canadiens AHL affiliate, the Laval Rocket, where he showcased his offensive capabilities while also being a physical presence on the ice. In 16 games with the Rocket, the 26-year-old had 3 goals and 12 assists, earning him a well-deserved call-up to the Canadiens.
Since joining the big squad, Stephens has continued to make a positive impact, playing in 11 games and scoring 2 goals, demonstrating his readiness for the challenges of the top tier.
Down in the City of Brotherly Love, Owen Tippett has been a notable presence with the Philadelphia Flyers all season. The 24-year-old winger has proven to be an offensive asset, notching an impressive 12 goals and 10 assists in 34 games.
Tippett’s consistent performance and composure under pressure have solidified his status as a key player in the Flyers’ lineup. The young forward’s contributions have earned him the admiration of fans and positioned him as a rising star in the league.
