It will be a silent day as well as night for most City services over the holiday break.
Curbside collection of green waste, garbage and recycling will remain relatively unchanged, with regular pickup on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day for those scheduled. However, those in collection zones 1 and 2 will see their Boxing Day pickup done on December 30th.
The City landfill on Bensfort Road will close at 11:45 a.m. December 23rd, and stay closed December 24th, Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.
Peterborough City Hall and the social services office on Charlotte Street close at noon December 22nd and won’t re-open until January 2nd. The Peterborough Public Library will be closed December 24th to 26th, will close at 5 p.m. December 27th to 30th, and will be closed again December 31st and New Year’s Day.
The outdoor skating rink at Quaker Foods City Square will be open most days from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., closing on Christmas Eve at 3 p.m. and all day on Christmas Day.
There are a number of adjustments to the Peterborough Transit schedule from December 22nd to January 6th, with no service at all on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. Visit www.peterborough.ca/transit for detailed schedules.
Oldies 96.7 and Freq 90.5 will not be publishing regular news on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.
