The loss of a loved one hits hard, but perhaps even a little bit harder when going through the holiday season.
On Thursday, a sunrise ceremony will be happening at Rogers Cove as part of the ‘Darkness To Light’ event.
Executive Director of the Greater Peterborough Health Services Foundation, Vince Bierworth, notes December 21st is the shortest day of the year, the symbolism being that there “brighter days ahead” for those grieving loss.
Bierworth notes the event speaks perfectly to the foundation’s mandate.
While the event is being offered free of charge, donations can be made and will be directed to support the Suicide Bereavement work at Hospice Peterborough.
