The Peterborough Public Library has expanded its outreach, opening a self-serve book checkout kiosk at Trent University’s Bata Library.
This is the third off-site kiosk opened by the library, the other two in place at the Sport and Wellness Centre and the Peterborough Regional Health Centre. Library CEO Jennifer Jones notes premise is simple.
Jones says the partnership with the Bata Library on the kiosk is refreshing and most welcome, noting the two existing kiosks have proven popular with library cardholders.
Looking ahead, Jones says the library will continue to look at other outreach opportunities.
In addition to the kiosks, the library’s book bike – a pedal-powered source of books that can be borrowed – is now out and about in the city, making stops at various locations and events.
