After a 5-2 loss to the North Bay Battalion last night, the Peterborough Petes are no longer perfect on home ice during the postseason.
Going into last night’s game, the Petes had been a perfect 6-0 at the Memorial Centre.
The Battalion opened the scoring just 1:23 into the game and from there they never looked back, holding the lead for the entire 60 minutes.
Petes Head Coach Rob Wilson was happy with his team’s play but admitted that it was tough playing catch up for the entire game.
Although playing catch up was an issue for his team, Wilson gave a lot of credit to the Battalion, notably the exceptional performance from the OHL’s Goaltender of the Year, Dom DiVincentiis, who made 37 saves in the game, including 18 in the third period alone.
Despite the loss, Petes forward JR Avon said team moral is still high, adding that the fan support during these playoffs has been greatly appreciated by him and his teammates.
With the best-of-seven Eastern Conference Final now tied at two games apiece, the series will shift back to North Bay tomorrow night for game five.
The series returns to Peterborough for game six on Sunday. Both games are 7pm starts.
You can listen to each games on Freq 90.5 beginning with the Tailgate Show at 6:30pm.
