With the naming of Canadian astronaut Jeremy Hansen to NASA’s Artemis II mission to the moon, a Trent University professor says there’s plenty of reason to be excited.
Dr. David Patton, who teaches physics and astronomy at Trent, says the scheduled November 2024 space flight that will take man deeper into space than ever before “is a pretty big deal.”
Dr. Patton adds that while Hansen’s involvement significantly raises the profile of the Canadian Space Agency, it really marks a continuation of its past contributions to NASA missions.
As a means of unifying the world, particularly in these turbulent times, Dr. Patton says space exploration is in a league of its own.
Dr. Patton maintains that the wonderment around space exploration is still with us, noting he sees it in his students.
