Volleyball:
The men’s team had the weekend off and participated in Boston Pizza Celebrity Serve at the Chemong Boston Pizza
Sunday evening. All the money raised will support the athlete sport nutrition program that provides the team with healthy
nutrition choices.
The women’s team was in North Bay competing against the Lakehead University Thunderwolves. Though they lost both
matches they stayed positive throughout the weekend.
Both men’s and women’s teams will play at home against the University of Waterloo Warriors this weekend.
Curling:
Both men’s and women’s curling were at the Brock Invitational Spiel this weekend.
The women’s team, coached by Joe Muldoon, finished with a record of 1 and 3. Trent beat Algoma University 9-3 then
fell to Toronto Metropolitan University 7-1, the University of Guelph 7-0 and finished with a closely contested game
against the University of Toronto 5-4. Team members were Leslie Inglis, Lauren Hart, Sam Maki, Jillian Cousineau, and
Paige Ballantyne. The coaching staff were extremely pleased with the teams performance over the weekend noting that the scores were not
always indicative of Trent’s high level of play. This spiel was a final preparation for OUA’s which will be held at Oshawa
Golf & Country Club from Feb. 3-5.
The men’s team, also competing at Brock, went 1-3 on the weekend but were competitive in all four games.
