New Year’s Day will see most all local businesses closed, with those looking to purchase some bottled cheer best to do so early on December 31st.
All local LCBO and Beer Store outlets in Peterborough city and county close at 6 p.m. on New Year’s Eve, and are closed after that until January 2nd.
On New Year’s Day, a few city pharmacies will be open, the list including all Shoppers Drug Mart stores, Rexall at Portage Place and on George Street, and Westmount Pharmacy on Clonsilla Avenue. Meanwhile, for emergency veterinary services, the clinic on Lansdowne Street West is open 24-7.
As for city services, Peterborough City Hall and the social services office re-open January 3rd, and Peterborough Transit will run its last trip on New Year’s Eve at 7:15 p.m. and then be off the road until January 2nd.
