Pending a final vote by city council, Peterborough Transit will undergo yet another overhaul.
Acting on a motion put forward by Ashburnham Ward councillor and city transportation chair Keith Riel, council voted in committee this week to return transit to the hub-and-spoke route design that was in place prior to the pandemic.
Councillor Riel says his motion was based on what he heard at the door while campaigning this past October.
In 2020, buses began operating on a grid system following a review. Councillor Riel says what will come forward as a result of a new review could be one of three options.
Whatever route system Peterborough Transit ultimately runs on, Councillor Riel says that system will cater to the needs of all users.
The motion will head to full council December 12th for a final vote.
