Local arenas were filled with youth hockey players over the weekend with the 2022 Boston Pizza Icefest AAA Tournament taking place in Peterborough.
The 2022 Boston Pizza Icefest AAA hockey tournament was held, featuring 36 teams.
Chair Seamus McDougall says there were 36 teams from across Ontario competing in the tournament.
McDougall adds the economic impact on the city is still big.
Three Peterborough teams competed in the weekend, including the U13 AAA Petes who won their division after an exciting triple-overtime victory.
This year also marked the first time since 2019 that the tournament was not be affected by COVID-19 restrictions.
