Our countdown to the Mann Cup continues.
The 2022 Mann Cup is just a day away and for Lakers MVP goalie Doug Buchan, this will be his first time starting in the Canadian championship series.
The St. Catharines native was a backup to fellow St. Kitts native Matt Vinc during the 2018 Mann but earned the starting role this time around after his stellar play this season, capped off with the Johnny “Shooter” Davis Award as playoffs most valuable player.
With all the attention on him right now, Buchan is quick to point out that the Langley Thunder also have an all-star goalie between the pipes.
As for how to prepare for a team they’ve never seen before, the young netminder says it’s all about studying the game tape.
Buchan adds that the fan support in Peterborough has been incredible and he’s hoping fans at the PMC will be extra loud when the Mann Cup kicks off Friday at 8pm.
