To fully understand Adam White’s tireless work on behalf of the Five Counties Children’s Centre, we have to go way back to when, as a nine-month old diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy, he benefitted from the centre’s services.
That was then and this is now, and now finds White in his ninth year as a member of Five Counties’ board of directors. As such, he is wholly dedicated to ensuring children with physical, communication and developmental needs receive the same level of care and compassion he received all those years ago.
Noting his voluntarism never feels like work, the big pay-off, says White, is playing a role in the building of children’s confidence via the skills they’ve attained and developed through Five Counties’ intervention. That, says, never fails to leave him with “a pretty incredible feeling.” The end result is it’s “very easy” for him to give back to the organization that made such a difference in his life.
