A long-time trustee on the Peterborough Victoria Northumberland and Clarington Catholic District School Board has announce he’ll not be seeking re-election.
David Bernier has been on the board for 16 years and during his tenure, he did have two stints as Board chair.
Bernier says it is time to step aside and let new people come forward with fresh ideas.
The new grandfather cited many highlights in his time on the Board, including travelling performances of the award-winning St. Mary Catholic Secondary School Singers and Treblemakers and the many school celebrations and student-led initiatives he enjoyed throughout the years.
The October 24th municipal election will determine the makeup of the next board of trustees, which will start its work following the Board’s annual meeting on November 15th.
