2022 marks 150 years of lacrosse being played in Peterborough, and that was celebrated by a flag raising at City Hall yesterday.
Chair of the Celebration Board Tim Barrie says having a flag raised was a cool moment.
Mayor Diane Therrien says it’s an exciting time for both those involved in lacrosse, as well as fans.
There will be a number of celebrations held throughout the year by different lacrosse organizations in the Peterborough region, which Barrie says will be capped by a Peterborough Lakers game.
The Senior Lakers kick off their season on June 1st.
