As Black History Month continues, there’s a growing importance to make sure to celebrate black history throughout the year, and not just in February.
That’s according to Board Member with the Community Race Relations Committee Charmaine Magumbe.
Magumbe adds that stereotypes are another reason why Black History Month is so important, especially in a place like Peterborough.
Throughout February, PTBOToday.ca will continue to celebrate Black History Month with weekly features.
A full list of events being held this month can be found at the Race Relations Peterborough website, starting with an official launch on Saturday.
