A Peterborough man has been charged in connection to a hotel fire early yesterday morning.
Peterborough Police say around 3:30am an officer saw smoke coming out of a ground-floor room at a Lansdowne Street West hotel. Video cameras caught a man leaving the room through the outside door and fleeing the scene, before he was arrested while walking near Lansdowne and The Parkway.
31-year-old Robert Smith has been charged with arson and failing to comply with probation and will appear in court later this week.
