A lot of eyes will be on a local barber shop today.
Peterborough Public Health served a Section 22 order on Friday to the operator of ‘Who’s Next Barber Shop’ on Hunter Street. The shop has been opening in spite of the provincial shutdown ordered by the provincial government.
Medical Officer of Health Dr. Rosana Salvaterra addressed the matter, saying personal service settlings like hair salons and tattoo parlours are high risk for COVID-19 transmission because of the inability to maintain two metres distance.
Failure to comply with the order could include a fine of up to $5000 for every day the offence occurs.
