Being a dietitian always was something that interested Kyla Blackie.
Blackie is one of the Registered Dietitians with the Peterborough Family Health Team and says she enjoys translating the science of food and nutrition into practical, every-day strategies people can use to optimize their health and well-being.
Dietitians can work with you to make lifestyle changes that help manage a variety of health conditions, such as diabetes, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, and much more.
Blackie says of course when a client has a breakthrough it is gratifying for those helping in the journey, but finds helping people dig deeper to understand their food behaviours is just as rewarding and interesting.
The Peterborough Family Health Team currently offers specific classes dealing with: Mindful Eating, Diabetes Prevention, Heart Health and Congestive Heart Failure.
