Peterborough’s Porch Pirates For Good uncovered a treasure of non-perishable food items on Saturday providing a huge boost to Kawartha Food Share and its member agencies.
Hundreds of volunteers took part in the ‘Porch Pirates For Good’ food drive, scouring the streets looking for booty.
At the end of the day, roughly 28,000 lbs of food was dropped off at the Kawartha Food Share warehouse.
This is the 7th year that this food drive has been held, and has now brought in more than 200,000 lbs of food for the member agencies and school nutrition programs that rely on food donations every day.
