Doors have been knocked upon, platforms have been pitched…all roads now lead to Monday and Peterborough’s 2026 municipal election.
In-person voting will be held from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at five ward-specific locations – the Healthy Planet Arena in Otonabee Ward; Westdale United Church in Monaghan Ward; the McDonnel Street Community Centre in Town Ward; the Peterborough Lions’ Community Centre in Ashburnham Ward; and Northview Community Church in Northcrest Ward. In addition, accessible voting equipment will be in place at City Hall for eligible voters from all wards.
Electors are required to bring their voter notification card to their voting location as well as identification that shows their name and address.
Peterborough elections supervisor Vicki King notes just more than 1,100 people voted October 14th at the one-day advance poll at the Healthy Planet Arena. She adds online voting has become increasingly popular since it was introduced.
King stresses that identification that shows your address is needed to vote in person.
King expects results for the each of the races will be fast in coming, with the internet voting and advanced poll results posted first at www.peterboroughvotes.ca with election day results added to the mix as they’re tabulated.
On Monday, Peterborough transit is free for those who show their voter notification card when boarding.
