Peterborough residents will have additional opportunities to cast their ballots ahead of the October 26 municipal and school board election, with accessible voting equipment and an internet voting kiosk available at City Hall next week.
The City of Peterborough says eligible voters from all five wards can visit City Hall, located at 500 George St. N., from Monday, October 19, through Friday, October 23, between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.
The location will offer accessible in-person voting equipment along with an internet voting kiosk.
On Election Day, Monday, October 26, in-person voting will take place from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at designated locations in each ward.
Election Day voting locations include:
– Ward 1 – Otonabee: Healthy Planet Arena, 911 Monaghan Rd.
– Ward 2 – Monaghan: Westdale United Church, 1509 Sherbrooke St.
– Ward 3 – Town: McDonnel Street Community Centre, 577 McDonnel St.
– Ward 4 – Ashburnham: Peterborough Lions Community Centre, 347 Burnham St.
– Ward 5 – Northcrest: Northview Community Church, 1000 Fairbairn St.
Residents voting at an Election Day ward location must cast their ballot in the ward where they live.
However, voters from any ward who require accessible voting equipment can use the City Hall location on Election Day between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m.
The city is also offering free Peterborough Transit service to and from in-person voting locations.
Voters can access the free rides by showing their voter notification card when boarding the bus.
Residents are encouraged to bring that card with them when voting in person.
For those who prefer to vote from home, online voting remains available until 8 p.m. on Monday, October 26.
Eligible voters can visit PeterboroughVotes.ca to confirm their registration, find their assigned voting location, review candidate information and access online voting services.
