Four people were taken into custody Thursday morning following a drug investigation that led to the seizure of fentanyl, cocaine and more than $20,000 in cash from a Peterborough residence.
Peterborough Police say members of the Drug Unit, assisted by the Emergency Response Team, executed a search warrant at a home on Park Street South around 11:40 a.m. on October 15.
During the search, officers seized 133 grams of cocaine, 131 grams of fentanyl and 45 Dilaudid pills. Police also recovered more than $20,000 in Canadian currency, a replica firearm and drug paraphernalia.
Investigators estimate the street value of the seized drugs at more than $20,000.
Four individuals were taken into custody as a result of the investigation. Police say one person is facing drug trafficking charges directly connected to the investigation. Two others were arrested on outstanding warrants, with one wanted on 12 warrants and another wanted on eight.
A fourth person was arrested on an endorsed warrant.
Police have not released the identities or ages of those arrested, nor have they provided a detailed breakdown of the drug trafficking charges.
The investigation involved both the Peterborough Police Drug Unit and Emergency Response Team.
