Peterborough Petes rookie forward Landon Roulston will have the opportunity to represent Canada on the international stage next month.
Hockey Canada has named the 16-year-old to its Canada Red roster for the 2026 World U17 Challenge, taking place November 1 to 7 at the Sixteen Mile Sports Complex in Oakville.
The selection marks another milestone for Roulston, who is playing his first season with the Petes after being selected 13th overall in the 2026 Ontario Hockey League Priority Selection.
“We’re very excited for Landon,” said Petes General Manager and Vice President of Operations Michael Oke.
“This is a great chance for him to play with and against some of the top U17 talent in the world. Landon has worked very hard, both on and off the ice, to earn this opportunity.”
The St. Catharines native has recorded two goals and two assists for four points through his first 10 games with Peterborough this season, while posting a plus-three rating.
Before joining the Petes, the six-foot-two forward played for the Vaughan Kings U16 program, collecting 38 points in 33 games. He also helped Vaughan capture the 2026 Greater Toronto Hockey League championship and qualify for the OHL Cup, where he registered a goal and three assists in four games.
Oke believes the international experience will help Roulston continue his development.
“We’re looking forward to watching him play and know that this experience will be very beneficial for him moving forward.”
Roulston won’t be the only member of the Petes organization participating in the tournament. Petes Video Coach and Assistant to the General Manager Alex Darling has been named video coach for Canada White.
