The Peterborough Visitor Centre at the Lift Lock is moving to its shoulder season schedule following its first summer under City operation.
Beginning October 13, the centre at 353 Hunter Street East will shift away from its summer schedule following Thanksgiving and the end of the Trent-Severn Waterway navigation season.
From October 16 through May 14, 2027, the Visitor Centre will be open Fridays through Sundays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. It will be closed on statutory holidays until Victoria Day.
The City says the weekend schedule will continue to offer travel planning assistance for visitors and residents organizing weekend getaways, sports tournaments and other trips and events.
More than 10,000 people have visited the centre since it opened under City operation in late June.
Staff have provided information on local attractions, experiences, restaurants and trip planning.
Seven-day-a-week service is expected to return when the Trent-Severn Waterway reopens for navigation in 2027.
Beginning May 15, the centre is scheduled to operate daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. through October 15.
