Cavan Monaghan residents will have an opportunity to hear directly from the people seeking a seat on township council ahead of next month’s municipal election.
A Cavan Monaghan All-Candidates Meeting is scheduled for Thursday, October 8, from 7 to 9:45 p.m. at Kawartha Downs in Fraserville.
Organizers say all 14 candidates seeking one of the five positions on Cavan Monaghan council are expected to participate.
Cavan Monaghan council consists of a mayor, deputy mayor and three ward councillors. Four candidates are running for mayor, two for deputy mayor, two in Ward 1 and three each in Wards 2 and 3.
The meeting comes just days before voting begins in the township. Cavan Monaghan’s internet and telephone voting period opens October 13 at 10 a.m. and continues until October 26 at 8 p.m.
