Hoping to bring about positive change “by sharing” his views, Brian Lumsden is taking another run at being elected mayor of Peterborough.
Lumsden ran for the same position in 2022, finishing fourth out of five candidates in a contest that was won handedly by Jeff Leal. Four years on, he has put his name forth again, promising, among other things, to champion a freeze on tax increases. He’s also adamant that the city put the development of a new sports and entertainment complex on hold.
Lumsden says while it’s good that voters have a wide choice for mayor, he feels he offers something unique that’s sorely needed.
Lumsden says those he’s encountered so far have been receptive to his platform.
Looking at the weeks leading up to the October 26th election, Lumsden says his calendar “is filling up pretty quick,” noting the answering of constant emails and maintaining a strong social media presence will take up much of his time.
