The Peterborough Petes have added another forward to their roster just days before the start of the 2026 OHL regular season.
General Manager and Vice President of Operations Michael Oke announced Monday that the team has signed Mason Minsky to an OHL Scholarship and Development Agreement.
Minsky is a 2007-born, right-handed forward from Libertyville, Illinois, who attended Petes Training Camp this season as a free-agent invite.
The 5-foot-10, 175-pound forward spent last season with the Janesville Jets of the North American Hockey League, recording 16 goals and 19 assists for 35 points in 53 games. He finished fifth in team scoring.
Before joining Janesville, Minsky played for Avon Old Farms School and developed through the Chicago Reapers AAA program.
“Mason is an extremely competitive forward who skates well,” said Oke. “He had a productive first season of junior last year with Janesville and showed very well at training camp and in preseason.”
Minsky says he’s grateful for the opportunity and is looking forward to joining his new teammates.
He is currently committed to Miami University in Ohio following his time in the OHL.
The Petes open their 2026 regular season Thursday, September 17 against the Kingston Frontenacs at the Peterborough Memorial Centre.
Puck drop is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
