The Peterborough Petes have added another piece to their blue line ahead of next week’s OHL regular-season home opener.
General Manager and Vice President of Operations Michael Oke announced Friday that the Petes have acquired 2008-born defenceman Jacob Xu from the London Knights.
The Richmond Hill native was originally selected by the Kitchener Rangers in the eighth round, 157th overall, in the 2024 OHL Priority Selection.
Xu split last season between Kitchener and London after being acquired by the Knights midway through the year. He recorded one goal and 13 assists for 14 points over 59 games.

In exchange, London receives North Bay’s fourth-round pick in the 2028 OHL Priority Selection and Peterborough’s sixth-round pick in 2030.
Oke says as the preseason wraps up, they’re still looking at ways to bolster the lineup, reducing the number of opportunities for those trying to make the squad
The trade comes as Peterborough prepares for its final preseason game. The Petes host the Niagara IceDogs Saturday at the Peterborough Memorial Centre, with puck drop scheduled for 4:05 p.m.
