A 33-year-old Peterborough man is facing several charges following an OPP investigation into the alleged online luring of a 12-year-old child.
Peterborough County OPP say the investigation began August 1 after a concerned parent contacted police about sexually explicit images of an adult man found on their child’s tablet.
Police say the parent also discovered conversations on social media platforms they were unaware their child was using.
The Peterborough County OPP Major Crime Unit launched an investigation.
On August 13, officers with the Peterborough County Major Crime Unit, Offender Management Unit and City of Kawartha Lakes Major Crime Unit executed a search warrant at a Peterborough residence.
Police say a suspect was located at the home and arrested.
Aaron Paulson has been charged with making sexually explicit material available to a person under 18 and luring a person under 18 by means of telecommunication.
He also faces three charges related to child sexual abuse and exploitation material, including possession, accessing the material and making, printing, publishing or possessing it for the purpose of publication.
The accused was held for a bail hearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough.
The charges have not been proven in court.
