A 44-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges after police responded to a break and enter in progress Monday afternoon.
Peterborough Police say officers were called to a fenced lot in the area of Ashburnham Drive and Lansdowne Street East at approximately 3:15 p.m. after receiving reports of a man wearing a ski mask attempting to take wire from the property.
When officers arrived, they located a man matching the description provided to police allegedly hiding on the property.
He was taken into custody without incident.
Police say a search of the man’s backpack following the arrest resulted in officers seizing several sets of pliers.
The accused was charged with break and enter to commit an indictable offence and possession of break-in instruments.
