The wins and loss record may not mean a lot for most during the preseason, but it can have an impact on whether you’re wearing a Petes jersey when the regular season begins on September 17th.
In the latest exhibition game, the Petes boarded the bus to Arnprior in the Ottawa Valley to face the 67’s.
Both teams exchanged goals in the first period, including newcomer Cooper Dennis who scored a shorthanded marker.
The Petes grabbed a 2 goal lead in the second period with Kolarik and Levac both finding the back of the net, and Brody Robertson scored his first of the preseason to give the Petes a 4-2 win over Ottawa.
Brayden McCallum led the way on the scoresheet with 2 assists.
Petes Head Coach Rob Wilson says that while the final score may not mean anything, there are still a number of positives that come from these exhibition games
He says that 7 players will be leaving for NHL camp this week which comes with some negatives and some positives for those who are still hoping to make the team this season
Wilson says with just a little more than a week before they kick off the regular season, there are still some tough decisions ahead
Their final preseason game is Saturday, September 12th when they face the Niagara Ice Dogs at the Memorial Centre at 4:05pm.
