The Ontario government has announced an $8,193,000 investment to support improved operations and reduced wait times at Peterborough Regional Health Centre (PRHC).
The investment will support the operations at PRHC’s core clinical services to better meet growing patient needs.
President and CEO Dr. Lynn Mikula says that this funding will help to support specialized programs that are in the works through the hospital.
Dr. Mikula believes that wait times in areas such as the Emergency Department will continue to improve, but the issue cannot be resolved overnight.
MPP Dave Smith says that equipping PRHC with the funding needed to keep critical care close to home is key.
