A 30-year-old Peterborough woman is facing several charges following an alleged break and enter at a downtown retirement residence.
Peterborough Police say officers with the Community F.I.R.S.T. Unit were called to a retirement residence near Water and Murray streets at approximately 6:50 p.m. on August 25.
Police say an uninvited woman had allegedly entered a resident’s room.
By the time officers arrived, the woman had left the building. Police allege a staff member was pushed as the woman fled.
Officers searched the area and located a woman matching the description provided to police. She was taken into custody.
As a result of the investigation, the 30-year-old Peterborough woman has been charged with assault, break and enter of a dwelling house to commit an indictable offence and failing to comply with a probation order.
Police say the accused was already bound by a probation order requiring her to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.
The woman appeared in court on August 26 and was remanded into custody for another appearance on August 27.
The charges have not been proven in court.
