Peterborough Police are reminding motorists to slow down after two drivers were charged with stunt driving on Lily Lake Road earlier this month.
Both incidents happened August 5 near Eastwood Road, where the posted speed limit is 50 km/h.
In one case, police say a 55-year-old man driving a vehicle towing a trailer was clocked at 121 km/h — 71 km/h over the posted limit.
The driver was charged under the Highway Traffic Act with stunt driving, speeding and failing to surrender a permit for the trailer.
In a separate incident, police say a 50-year-old woman was recorded travelling 98 km/h in the same 50 km/h zone. She was charged with stunt driving and speeding.
Both drivers had their licences suspended for 30 days and their vehicles impounded for 14 days.
The charges have not been proven in court.
Peterborough Police are using the incidents to remind drivers to obey posted speed limits and slow down on area roads.
