STUFF TO DO
Friday: Smash Courts Pickleball is hosting a two-day fundraising event in support of Tim Hortons Camp Day. Friday will feature introductory sessions for new players, open courts for casual games, giveaways and challenges, along with Tim Hortons treats and family-friendly activities throughout the day. The weekend continues into Saturday with a Team Tournament costing $60 per person, which is open to players ranging from beginner to advanced levels. More information can be found online.
Friday: Come out and join the Omemee Legion for a Karaoke Beach Party. From 7 to 11 p.m. at the Legion (46 King St E., Omemee)
Saturday: The 49th annual Buckhorn Festival of the Arts is back this weekend at the Buckhorn Community Centre & Athletic Association. Attendees can enjoy the work of over 100 artists starting at 10 a.m. on both Saturday and Sunday.
Saturday: Peterborough Musicfest presents another evening of free live music at Del Crary Park, bringing Crystal Faith- The Best of Styx/Bon Jovi to the stage starting at 8 p.m.
LOCAL SPORTS:
August 15: Tri Kawartha is hosting the Northstar Industries Kids Triathlon in Beavermead Park. Children ages 3-11 can enjoy multiple courses, times and distances in biking, running and swimming events. The event runs from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., and is in support of both the Peterborough Child & Family Centres & Canopy Support Services. More information and how to register can be found online.
