A 21-year-old Omemee man is facing charges after an incident early Saturday morning.
At approximately 2:40 a.m. on August 8, officers were called to the area of Rubidge and Murray Streets about a vehicle leaving the roadway and striking a fence and that there was concern the driver was impaired. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the driver and noticed signs of impairment. The driver refused to comply with the demand for testing.
As a result of the investigation, a 21-year-old Omemee man was arrested and charged with:
- Failure or refusal to comply with demand
- Careless driving (Highway Traffic Act)
The accused was issued an automatic 90-day license suspension and a seven-day vehicle impoundment.
The accused was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court October 27.
