Two Peterborough residents are facing drug charges following an investigation at the Peterborough Regional Airport.
Peterborough Police say officers attended the airport at approximately 11:30 a.m. Thursday, after receiving information about a chartered plane scheduled for a domestic flight.
During the investigation, officers located drugs and an imitation firearm. A 40-year-old Peterborough man and a 41-year-old woman were taken into custody.
Police say a search following the arrests resulted in the seizure of an imitation firearm, 38.7 grams of methamphetamine, 7.3 grams of cocaine, 7.8 grams of fentanyl, 148 hydromorphone pills, 862 Dilaudid pills, Canadian currency and cellphones.
The 40-year-old man is facing charges including possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 and multiple counts of possession of Schedule I substances, including opioids, methamphetamine, cocaine and other drugs.
The 41-year-old woman is facing multiple Schedule I drug possession charges involving opioids, methamphetamine, cocaine and other drugs.
The allegations have not been proven in court.
