As each passing day brings the 2026-27 Ontario Hockey League season closer, the Peterborough Petes are prepping for training camp with newly acquired forward Cooper Dennis firmly in the mix.
The Petes traded forward Kaden McGregor to the Brantford Bulldogs for Cooper, who scored 34 goals and added 40 assists last season. The Ithaca, New York native also recorded seven points in 15 playoff games.
Reflecting on the trade, Petes head coach Rob Wilson says “You never want to lose a young player” but adds Dennis was a number one trade target all summer.
Wilson says with training camp looming, the message is “come ready.” He expects there will be some surprises, both good and bad.
While much remains to be decided, Wilson likes where things are at now.
