The second annual Trent Farm Research Centre Open House event displayed student-led initiatives aimed at improving sustainable agriculture and food security.
On Wednesday, attendees explored farm-tech demonstrations and active projects including an autonomous fertilizer robot, market garden, chicken coop, tile drainage field, weather station and V6 Agronomy field trial.
The open house showed how the centre provides students hands-on learning opportunities while conducting research to help farmers deal with changing environmental conditions and support Ontario’s agriculture industry.
The event also highlighted partnerships between Trent researchers and local agri-food community leaders.
