A 32-year-old Peterborough man is facing multiple drug trafficking charges after a police investigation led to the seizure of fentanyl, cocaine and other illegal drugs.
Peterborough Police say members of the Drug and Intelligence Unit were conducting an investigation on July 31 when they identified a man allegedly conducting drug transactions in the area of Reid and McDonnel streets.
With assistance from uniformed officers, investigators located and arrested the suspect near Reid and Simcoe streets.
Police say they seized approximately 91 grams of fentanyl, 12 grams of cocaine, five grams of methamphetamine and 138 Dilaudid pills, along with a hatchet, several knives, drug paraphernalia and Canadian currency.
The estimated street value of the drugs is about $11,000.
The accused has been charged with four counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of proceeds of crime under $5,000 and possession of a prohibited weapon.
