This Monday’s Civic Holiday, marked as Peter Robinson Day in Peterborough, will affect some city services and facilities.
While curbside waste collection won’t be affected, the city-county landfill and the Household Hazardous Waste Depot on Pido Road will be closed.
Peterborough Transit will operate on a Sunday/holiday service schedule. Visit www.peterborough.ca/transit for detailed schedules.
Peterborough City Hall and the Art Gallery of Peterborough will be closed along with the Aylmer Street branch of the Peterborough Public Library. However, the library’s Miskin Law branch will be accessible to those who scan their library card at the entrance.
The Peterborough Museum and Archives is open noon to 5 p.m. on the holiday, as is Riverview Park and Zoo from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., and the Peterborough Visitor Centre at the Lift Lock from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Peterborough Sport and Wellness will be open from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Lifeguards will be on duty at Beavermead Beach on Canada Day from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., but there is no lifeguard supervision at Rogers Cove. Splash pads in city parks will be open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., with lifeguard supervision of city wading pools from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Please note that our News Department is off on the Civic Holiday. Coverage will, however, be provided in the event of breaking news that impacts the community. We will be return to regular coverage and programming on August 4th.
