Peterborough Musicfest launches its First Note initiative this Saturday (August 1) at Del Crary Park.
From 6:30 p.m. on just inside the George Street entrance to Del Crary Park, a free hands-on music experience for children and youths is being offered in partnership with the Peterborough Foundation. It will also be offered August 5th, 8th and 12th prior to each concert on those nights.
Musicfest marketing and communications manager Raff Melito outlines the motivation behind the initiative.
Melito says Long and McQuade is providing the instruments and some instruction.
Melito says there will be wide variety of instruments to try out.
