A 43-year-old Cavan-Monaghan man is facing multiple charges following a Peterborough Police investigation into incidents involving young girls.
Police say the investigation began after a July 16 report involving a male approaching young girls in public places and providing them with sexually explicit notes. Officers later identified additional incidents believed to have occurred between July 10 and July 16 at Lansdowne Place Mall and near Prince of Wales School in the Monaghan Road and Sherbrooke Street area.
On Friday, July 24, police located and arrested the suspect.
Scott Andrew Duncan of Cavan-Monaghan has been charged with 11 offences, including luring a person under 16, invitation to sexual touching, criminal harassment and making sexually explicit material available.
Duncan appeared in Weekend and Statutory Holiday Court on Saturday, July 25, and was remanded into custody until his next court appearance on August 4.
Investigators believe there may be additional victims and are asking anyone with information to contact Peterborough Police. The service has released the accused’s name and photo to help encourage potential victims or witnesses to come forward.
