Peterborough Regional Health Centre has named Noel Bennett as its next interim president and chief executive officer.
Bennett, who currently serves as Executive Vice President of Clinical Services and Chief Nursing Executive, will assume the role on Sept. 25 as Dr. Lynn Mikula departs to become president and CEO of Sinai Health in Toronto.
A registered nurse, Bennett joined PRHC in 2008 and has spent nearly two decades with the organization, advancing through a series of leadership roles. He previously served as manager and director of Emergency and Critical Care before joining the hospital’s senior leadership team in 2021.
During his time as Chief Nursing Executive, Bennett helped lead the launch of one of Canada’s first Nursing Strategies in 2025, along with PRHC’s inaugural Nursing Symposium and Nursing Innovation Awards.
Board Chair Scott Milligan said Bennett’s experience and commitment to the hospital made him the right choice to lead the organization during the transition.
“The Board of Directors has every confidence in Noel’s leadership,” Milligan said. “His many years of experience, and his deep connection and commitment to PRHC’s continued success, are key factors that will serve this hospital well.”
Bennett said he is honoured to take on the role and plans to continue building on the hospital’s recent progress.
“I look forward to continuing to work closely with our dedicated leadership team to maintain the momentum we’ve been building and to support the people of this organization,” he said.
The board also thanked Dr. Mikula for her leadership and contributions to the hospital ahead of her departure this fall.
