A commercial vehicle inspection in Peterborough has resulted in 10 charges and three vehicles being removed from the road.
Members of the Peterborough Police Service Traffic Unit conducted the Commercial Motor Vehicle Inspection detail on June 29.
Police say five commercial vehicles were inspected during the operation, with three found to have issues serious enough to be placed out of service.
A total of 10 Highway Traffic Act charges were laid, including offences related to vehicle defects, braking systems, inspection reports, distracted driving and failing to stop at a red light.
Police say officers trained in commercial motor vehicle inspections will continue conducting enforcement details throughout the year to help improve road safety.
