The Maria Street Swing Bridge will be temporarily closed Friday, as Parks Canada carries out mechanical repairs.
The closure will affect motorists, cyclists and pedestrians between 8 a.m. and noon. During that time, travellers are advised to use alternate routes, including crossings at Hunter Street East, McFarlane Street and Parkhill Road East. Detour signage will be posted in the area.
Parks Canada says the work is necessary to maintain the bridge’s operation and thanked residents and visitors for their cooperation and patience while the repairs are completed Friday morning in Peterborough.
