Three people, including two teenagers, are facing charges following two separate incidents involving alleged firearm threats in Peterborough overnight Friday.
According to police, officers were first called to a residence in the Parkhill Road and Monaghan Road area at about 11:50 p.m. on June 19. Investigators learned the victim had arrived at the residence to pick someone up when two individuals came outside and began verbally threatening them.
Police allege one of the suspects pointed a firearm at the victim while making threats. The victim then fled the area in a vehicle.
Officers searched the area but were unable to locate the suspects at the time.
About 1:10 a.m. Saturday, police received a report of two teenagers carrying firearms at a business in the Chemong Road and Bellevue Street area.
Officers responded and located several individuals matching the descriptions provided by witnesses. The group was found walking through a nearby parking lot and was taken into custody without incident.
During a search following the arrests, officers seized three BB guns.
Police say a 24-year-old Ottawa woman wanted in connection with the earlier incident at the residence was among those taken into custody.
Investigators allege that while being held in custody, a 17-year-old Peterborough girl became aggressive and kicked and scratched officers.
The teen was arrested in connection with both incidents and charged with failing to comply with a probation order, pointing a firearm, assault with a weapon, uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and two counts of assaulting a peace officer.
Police said the accused was bound by a probation order prohibiting possession of weapons, including BB guns, pellet guns, firearms, imitation firearms and other items defined as weapons under the Criminal Code.
She was held in custody and appeared in Weekend and Statutory Holiday court on Saturday.
