Jo Anne’s Place Health Foods has now been a staple in the community for 50 years.
The company began with a Lindsay location in 1976, before setting up in Peterborough in the mid-80s.
Current owner Margo Hudson, daughter of founder Jo Anne Fallaise, spoke to PTBOTODAY.ca.
Hudson adds it’s a great story for any business to stay around for this long, but the fact it’s a family legacy, is really special.
City councillor Joy Lachica says small businesses like Jo Anne’s Place are the backbone of what makes Peterborough thrive.
Hudson says the emergence and embracing of certified organic products has been a major development over the past decade but is still proud her locations continue to offer something a little bit different than others.
