A fundraiser will be held in Peterborough this Friday (May 29) for Wounded Warriors Canada.
Founded and organized by Canadian Armed Forces veteran and Wounded Warriors ambassador Patrick Schillemat, Hops for Heroes goes from 4 to 8 p.m. at 100 Acre Brewing Company on Ashburnham Drive south of the bypass. With a goal of $7,500, ticket proceeds will go to Wounded Warriors’ initiatives and programs that support resiliency and recovery from post-trauma injuries.
Schillemat says the idea for the event took flight three years ago when he was fundraising for his first Battlefield Bike Ride in Italy.
