The Peterborough Police Service says officers were called to the park at approximately 9:30 p.m. on May 26, after reports of a woman yelling at and spitting on another woman.
Police say officers located a suspect matching the description provided and took her into custody. During the arrest, investigators allege the woman spat at a police officer.
As a result of the investigation, the accused has been charged with assault, assaulting a peace officer, breach of recognizance and being intoxicated in a public place under the Liquor Licence Control Act.
